I’m taking on the challenge of Stride4Stroke and raising funds for Stroke Foundation!

This November, I’m participating in the Stride4Stroke fundraiser to help prevent stroke, save lives, enhance recovery and raise awareness and support for the Stroke Foundation, in honour of my incredible Dad. In March, he faced the unimaginable after suffering a subarachnoid aneurysm, resulting in multiple strokes. It was a traumatic time for our family, and his survival was uncertain.

My dad’s determination and strength throughout his rehabilitation have been nothing short of inspiring. From day one, Dad approached his recovery with determination, propelling himself forward and not allowing his circumstances to define him and exceeding everyone’s expectations along the way. He has never allowed any obstacles to deter his progress in achieving his goals. With each milestone Dad reaches, he not only showcases his resilience but also serves us reminder of the love, support and commitment our family shares. Dads dedication to overcoming this life altering challenge is a true reflection of his character, showing our family and his tribe of growing grandchildren that with determination, a positive mindset and amazing family support, anything can be achieved.

As a proud Torres Strait Islander man, my dad embodies strength and resilience. He is my safe space and my greatest source of inspiration. His infectious personality and positive energy touches everyone he meets, spreading kindness and joy wherever he goes, those who know him are truly better for it.

I’m walking for my dad and for all those affected by strokes. Together, we can make a difference in raising awareness and supporting vital research. Your donations will help provide resources and support to families facing similar challenges.
