I’m taking on the challenge of Stride4Stroke and raising funds for Stroke Foundation!

In the next 11 minutes, someone, somewhere in Australia is going to have a stroke.

Personally, this has been the case for my family on multiple occurrences. 

In December 2021 after an uncomplicated pregnancy, I gave birth to a beautiful & strong-willed little girl. And then just 30hrs post birth, she was rushed to NICU suffering seizures which we later found out were caused by a neonatal stroke in utero. 

We had ZERO knowledge about this but as we've since learnt, up to 120 babies and 400 children have a stroke in Australia each year.

After a scary and traumatic 2 week NICU stay, she came home with us on New Years Day 2022 and has continued to amaze us every single day. A CP diagnosis has not slowed her down and incredibly she is THRIVING and about to turn 3! 

And then just 13 months later, in Feb 2023, my darling Mum suffered a Hemorrhagic Stroke. Thankfully our strong and independent Mum is still making great progress on her recovery. 

But we know it could have been so much worse as strokes are one of Australia's biggest killers. They claim more lives than breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men. 

That's why this November I'm taking part in Stride4Stroke to raise funds for Stroke Foundation.

Any donation to this cause would be greatly appreciated. 

In return you'll be helping to sustain vital programs & resources that Stroke Foundation provides. 

As part of Stride4Stroke I've also set a goal of  900 'Moving Minutes' for the month. This does not include chasing a toddler! For anyone that wants to join me please sing out!
