Running with heart, for Mum and every beat of life!

This month, I’ve made it my mission to raise awareness about stroke after my ‘healthy’ 54-year-old mum tragically lost her life to a subarachnoid haemorrhage in October 2023—just 4 days before her birthday. Her sudden passing has left a hole in our lives that will never be filled, and every day I wish she was still here.

In her honor, I am dedicated to raising awareness, raising funds for stroke research, and getting myself in the best physical condition possible. I want to be here to see my kids achieve great things, just as she did for me—hopefully for many more years than her.

It’s heartbreaking to think that up to 80% of strokes can be prevented with lifestyle changes. I’m determined to do what I can to protect my own health, and I hope to inspire others to do the same. If I can help even one person avoid the pain of losing a loved one to stroke, it will be worth every step I take.

Please support me as I run 100km for Stride4Stroke this November in her memory, to raise awareness, and to help make a difference in the fight against stroke.

So far I have helped Stroke Foundation deliver…

Initial advice and support from a health professional on StrokeLine

A stroke recovery pack to three survivors of stroke

Training to a StrokeSafe volunteer to deliver community talks.

Funding to stroke researchers to find the next game-changer in stroke.
