I’m taking on the challenge of Stride4Stroke and raising funds for Stroke Foundation!

?Monday the 23rd of January 2023 was an eventful day for me. It was my 21st birthday, I finished my very first day of placement, and my nana suffered a severe stroke.

She was flown to Melbourne to have a clot retrieved from her brain and monitored. She completed months of rehab in the very hospital I work at today, treated by the very team who are helping me become the physio I spent four years training to be. 

This November, I'm taking on the challenge of Stride4Stroke and raising funds for Stroke Foundation to help prevent stroke, save lives and enhance recovery.

In the next 11 minutes, someone, somewhere in Australia is going to have a stroke.

Stroke is one of Australia's biggest killers and doesn't discriminate; it affects anyone, anytime. It claims more lives than breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men. And incredibly, up to 120 babies and 400 children have a stroke in Australia each year.

I have such a strong connection to this cause, both personally and through my work. I hold so much gratitude that I get to be a positive influence in the recovery of stroke survivors. I have every intention to continue to help as many people, just like my nana, as I can ?
